Sleep Deprivation - lack of sleep (of course that's stating the obvious)

Let's look at what happens when you sleep.

The body and the brain has at last "me-time" when it can heal the damage you caused during your awakening hours. It produces important hormones, it heals the liver and other organs, in fact without going into detail, it completely gives your body a full service where it removes toxins and old dead cells are collected and washed out when you use the toilet first thing. This is essential for next day alertness, memory and decision making abilities as well as longevity. Heard of the expression "let's sleep on it"? You can often make a decision clearly upon waking up. Sleep resets your body, but this is also subject to leading a healthy life eating healthily.

What can happen if you don't get enough sleep?
